I haven’t made any Halloween treats! That had to be resolved so I could post a photo of some of my cool halloween dishes. I saw this recipe for Mini Baked Doughnuts and knew I had some holiday sprinkles. Perfect.
This recipe calls for aquafaba. What’s that? Well, it’s canned chickpea brine. Seriously, there are groups devoted to whipping this up like an egg substitute, it’s so awesome. One of the many things on my list to try for making all sorts of vegan meringue treats and such, but here it’s just another ingredient. And it works!
I wish these had more flavour. Unfortunately I found them kind of boring. Maybe more vanilla next time. I didn’t add flavouring in the frosting since I didn’t want to mess with the colour, guess that’s my fault. Oh well. PS: This recipe as-is makes 4 DOZEN mini donuts. 48. Yeah, I brought them to work this morning! I can’t eat that many myself.
