Aw yeah, a reason to bake! E had a birthday (that seems to happen every year) and we went over for pizza and cake before going out for the evening. She made this coconut cake, and I made this Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. Because who doesn’t want two kinds of cake?
This recipe didn’t need any doctoring. It’s a pretty basic one, but I didn’t know what to do with the chocolate chips so I made a drizzle. Okay, to be really honest I didn’t want to fuss over frosting the cake, so the drizzle hides that I didn’t smooth out the frosting.
It didn’t matter, this was packed full of chocolate and everyone appreciated it. Even the smell was strong! I highly suggest using a good quality powder if you can because this recipe calls for a lot and it’s nice to do something a bit more special.
