This my friends is one of the better ideas I’ve seen in a long time. Apple Pie Biscuits. Tired of splitting open your biscuit to add jam or jelly? Eff that, make these and you have an all in one awesome breakfast. I made them vegan and it was pretty darn easy. Margarine instead of butter, soy milk plus a glug of apple cider vinegar for buttermilk and I just left off the egg wash. I ended up making a long rectangle and getting 8 that way. Easier than trying to balance some dough on top of them. Oh, I just dusted them with cinnamon sugar because it was right there. It was a good choice.
I love my cast iron pans so I was excited to make the apple filling. So excited that I used the pan that I made my garlic chinese broccoli in and barely wiped out. Oops. I had another apple, no worries. So remember kids, if you don’t really wash your cast iron be sure to give it a good rinse out before you start playing with the sweet stuff.
