Well, it’s Saturday and I’m starting to feel better. I felt run down and half sick when I was in St. Louis, like a cold that would never develop. When I got home I totally remembered that I had a package from Hawaiian Ola who asked me to do a review of their products.
I immediately thought that these would be like 5 hour energy drinks and set them off to the side. I’m so dumb, they are not like that at all. These have organic, GMO-free juices, vitamins and extracts, not just a caffeine high. I immediately started with the Immunity blend since I felt crummy which was interesting. I mixed it first with water, and the second time I put in my smoothie. The taste was pretty good and very sweet. I had to sip it over quite a bit of time for the water version since I don’t really drink juice anymore. Some of it settled and it definitely had a texture (a bit gritty) but it wasn’t bad (believe me, I would have said it if it tasted bad). It helped me get over the “almost sick” hump and I’ll definitely pick some of this up the next time I feel a cold coming on. Not sure if it was that or my immune system but anyway I’m pretty happy with this.
This morning I had the energy drink in a smoothie with fruit and I’m off to play tennis. It’s not my usual fuel but it should be okay. This one had a bit of an aftertaste but not bad. I prefer the immunity because I love sweet things but it was fine. What I really like about these products is that they are not full of chemical crap to keep you awake. Noni is a pretty cool sounding fruit and I hope I can get my hands on some fresh someday.
