I used soy milk instead of buttermilk which was fine. I didn’t really have any patience for the look of the frosting so it just got slapped on so we could eat the darn cake I was craving. I used margarine instead of butter in the frosting. Even though it was ugly it was super tasty! A nice weekday recipe for sure.
