I was so looking forward to this recipe for Cinnamon Waffles with Almond Cream because I was out of maple syrup. I can’t just go to any old store for maple syrup since I only buy Canadian, so I had to get my butt over to Trader Joe’s and that didn’t happen before I wanted waffles. Please note: running out of maple syrup is a serious issue in my house, it was grim but we made it through… barely.
So the almond cream didn’t turn out for me. It was a runny mess. And then my mind wandered… and yeah, I couldn’t take a photo of that. But the waffles were tasty (and saved by brown rice syrup). The waffles themselves were tasty but subtle. I added cinnamon sugar to mine after I topped them with syrup. Because I can’t ever get enough cinnamon 😉
