Here’s a prime example of hitting more than one goal at once. On New Years Day the husband wanted to hit up a favourite book shop in Half Moon Bay. They were having a sale and he knows I’ve been eyeing a new cookbook (Isa Does It) so he wanted to go shopping. I wanted to spend the day going hiking.
So, instead of wandering off for most of the day alone I compromised and we hit up the Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail right by the beach (and the bookshop)! It was lovely, we took the paved part and just had a nice stroll. It was busy but it was so very nice out so everyone had the same idea.
The views were so nice. Lots of benches to stop and look at the beach below and the ocean. The trail goes farther than the 3 miles we went but it was more than enough for today.
I really love living in California. I love having the opportunity (even if I have to fight a bit of traffic) to go to the beach. To hang out looking at the ocean. To watch the brave surfers – i’s really damn cold in the water up here.
2014 is turning out to be awesome. Here’s to more peaceful days like this in my pocket.
It isn’t always about exercise and challenges. I went on a nice walk/hike with my husband and spent some time with him. Had a nice peaceful day and while I didn’t push myself to the limit I still got some fresh air and a bit of weight off of my chest.
