Bread Bakers Apprentice: Swedish Rye (Limpa)

Swedish RyeI can’t say that this one was a win, but it wasn’t a total dud. It was on the list for the BBA challenge (which is taking me years to get through it seems) and I’m not a huge fan of rye so I put it off for a bit.

Swedish Rye-2My barm just didn’t give the lift to the rye that it needed so it was kind of flat and dense. It ws dense but not brick like fortunately. My house is cold so that could be part of it as well. It is kind of how I picture rye though so maybe it turned out just fine. The orange peel and spices in it gave it an interesting flavour. It made great toast to be honest.
