I did find one sweet recipe over at Olives For Dinner that I was willing to try: Homemade Granola with Dried Blueberries. We were out of granola so it was a no brainer. However we had no dried blueberries. I had options though: I could put on some shoes and go over to Trader Joe’s and pick some up or I could make some myself. I was too lazy to put on shoes so I busted out my dehydrator and made my own. Sure, it took longer but it was super easy.
This is a very seedy granola. Nothing wrong with that but if you don’t buy things like sesame seeds in bulk like I do at Penzeys it could get pricey. I didn’t have any sunflower seeds (they get inhaled in this house) so I used slivered almonds. The almonds are kind of always a staple in our granola around here anyway. It came together easily and the long and low bake time helped brown the granola without the worry of burning.
