It’s really hot. And I really love the heat but well, we don’t have A/C. Hell, some places in the bay area don’t have heat either, but we do at least have heat. However, for a few weeks of the year we yearn for central air.
I couldn’t bear to make the zebra cake I had planned for this challenge. I can’t turn on the oven, it’s already 94 degrees inside. So I found a nice raw recipe to finish this weeks challenge off calledÂ No Bake Chocolate Almond Zesty Snack Bars. I don’t know what is so zesty about them, I used baking spice as my spice blend so it wasn’t coming from my spice choices. However, I did LOVE these. I made the regular version in my food processor and they came together in an instant. I actually forgot to add the extra cereal, they didn’t need it. The chocolate and extra sugar made them a treat. I made them in a smaller pan because it’s what was in front of the cabinet so the bars were a bit more thick, but I like them that way.
