Yay! A use for my crock pot! I had high hopes for these Boston Baked Beans over at Being Vegan. I didn’t bother to make my own bacon tempeh. I bought it premade and cooked it up. The taste on these was great but they were not done after 8 hours in the slow cooker. I turned it up to high for another hour and they still were not done but I ate them anyway. I have a feeling that these could have used 12 hours on low in my crockpot. I did reheat them again but they were still a bit too al dente for me to finish off the whole batch. Total bummer.
When it comes to slow cookin’ being impatient isn’t a good thing. Next time I’ll make beans on the weekend so I have all the time in the world to watch them!
