I guess I kind of followed a recipe for a sandwich, which is weird. I saw a french dip online in my blog feed and realized I had never had one. I didn’t have any rolls but I did have some nice fresh bread so I went to work hunting in the fridge for ingredients.
The part I needed the recipe for was the “au jus”. I found a good looking (and easy) one at Essig Farms. It came together quickly and I got to work on the sandwich. I used Field Roast for the meat and sliced it thinly. I then sauteed up some bell peppers and onions and put it all together. Pretty darn tasty after being pressed in Mr. Foreman with homemade bread. The husband had cheese and thought it was very tasty. I think next time it needs some sort of horseradish or something, but pretty good for my first french dip.
