Pecan Pie Brownies

Can’t screw up brownies, right? Plus, I really needed something to bring to a party. Well..

It started off okay. This recipe is huge, but I made it all. I did half egg replacer and half flax seed. Margarine for butter. Ended up baking them for 25 minutes (instead of 15) after the pecans were added since I couldn’t tell if they were done. See the top photo? They just came out of the oven, all yummy looking.

And then I dropped a pan trying to get them to the fridge. Our fridge doesn’t stay open and I lost one. Okay, I had another. Well, got them fully cooled and the insides were not done and the outside was burnt. As in burnt caramel burnt. Yeah. I’m SO glad I cut into it before taking it to the party. I showed up empty handed because I completely suck. I’m still a bit sick, frustrated and nothing is working out in the kitchen (in case you haven’t noticed).
