So, while being super busy this holiday season I hosted a cookie swap. I felt bad that I never make time to host a cookie swap. I took my busiest weekend and inserted some well deserved sugar into it since hey, you can never be too busy for cookies! I was too busy to take photos right away, I suck. However, here’s some from the middle of the fun. Please note: we broke into cookies right when the first set of people rolled through the door and ate sugar for hours. This might be a shaky post!

Sarah came true to brit style with Malteser bars plus some Jaffa cakes and other british biscuits. She overdid herself. We joked you could only eat a few of these bars and I thought I had it under control. I was so very wrong. Yeah, I maxed out at 2. Amateur. I love maltesers! My friend Aviva kept the chocolate flowing with some pretty awesome Buttermilk Chocolate Cookies and the texture was awesome.

My awesome guy friends are actually amazing bakers (and cooks). Chase & Jason provided us with 3 types of cookies to share (shout out to Joyce who couldn’t make it) and we got some Ginger Molasses Cookies, White Chocolate Chip and Rosemary Orange. The rosemary was pretty awesome and the orange subtle. I was so surprised when I got to this one, it had a neat shortbread like texture, very unique.

Bars were allowed, since well, bars rock. Elspeth made some carmelita bars which were yummy and carmelly. Hell, I even liked them and they had pecans. Marlene made some brilliant Mini Chocolate Chip Snowball Cookies. Go on over to her blog for the recipe. It was fantastic.

But what did I make? I finally broke down and bought a pizzelle maker! I’ll talk more about these crispy crunch addictions in another post. I was so very lucky to have a great group of people from many different social circles totally come together because of cookies. Once in a while we need a break from stress and restrictions and day to day things. Cookies brought us all together and everyone went home with a healthy box full of treats. I thank all of you who came and hope to start this as a tradition.
