Wow, a food truck! I know, I’ve been bringing my lunch lately and honestly I like to save my splurges for dinner. However, I found myself lacking a lunch and not looking forward to a salad. And then a new food truck (to the lot according to coworkers) pulled up! Bao & Bowls.
What a cute truck. It had like about 5 people inside all busting their butts. Why? Because the menu is pretty long. Very surprising. Plus, they had specials not on the menu.
I’ve been craving rice like a mad woman so while the buns sounded tasty I opted for the Imperial “Red Braised” Hodo Soy Tofu bowl. Hodo is a great local tofu company. I have to learn sometime that I’m just not a fan of Chinese style tofu. It’s too squishy, even when deep fried like today. It was okay. It needed all the chili sauce that was given and it didn’t make it super spicy at all. It was a bit oily for me since I’ve been off of the oil but the rice soaked it up. Overall a pretty good lunch but Chinese just isn’t a cuisine I crave much.
