Okay, this is a recipe pretty much like matzo toffee but I had to make it. The husband would gladly eat pretzels for the rest of his life (with coffee as his beverage choice) and even though he prefers the large sour dough pretzels I keep some mini ones on hand for my personal munching.
I had a few handfuls left and decided to try this recipe from Eat At Allie’s. She’s in my Google reader and seems to be a bad influence since I want to make many of her recipes. At least I could make a mini batch pretty easily. In fact I only used 3 tablespoons of margarine and the same of brown sugar for the caramel. I didn’t bother melting the chocolate chips first and then spreading them, I just stuck them in the oven on top like I do with my matzo toffee and it worked out fine.
