No campfires were made in order to get these wonderful treats. I saw a recipe for toasted marshmallow squares over at Joy The Baker‘s place and though it looked so good. However, after showing it to the husband he didn’t seem interested at all. I think it was the jam.

So I switched up the jam for Justin’s Hazelnut Chocolate spread and wow. These rocked. For my vegan subs I ended up using margarine and ditching the egg yolk totally. It didn’t need to be replaced. I used Dandies as my vegan marshmallow of choice and they rocked. They look a little extra done but they didn’t taste burnt at all. Plus, if you are going to toast marshmallows, they better have a bit of colour on them! Try them still warm, you will swoon.
