I’m not really familiar with American treats like Tastykakes and such. We all know I’m foreign and grew up with Vachon. Same sort of crap, different packaging, though I’ve yet to come into contact with an American Flaky. Anyway, this recipe over at Vegan Dance If You Want To Â looked really neat.
The cake part isÂ definitelyÂ not what I expected. It is kind of like prepackaged spongy snack cake. The peanut butter melted nicely but it never got solid, which since it is only peanut butter makes sense, I don’t know why I expected that. When I went to cut the cake the peanut butter was still soft but that’s not a bad thing but I was thinking I should have added more peanut butter in hindsight. Mostly because I believe you can never have enough peanut butter. Â I’m sure if I was missing my prepackaged snack cake this would be an awesome fit if I had made the cake layer a bit less thick. Oh well, live and learn.
