I just wanted something natural and not full of crap. I know, I don’t make a lot of “crap” food, but I wanted something not so processed. Back from VeganMoFo I bookmarked this recipe called Sweet Like Hannah TrufflesÂ from VeganLisa. Raw balls of goodness, let me tell you.
I didn’t have any pumpkin seeds left so I just added more macadamia nuts. Macadamia nuts are a bit oily so these are best right out of the fridge. The mango just gives them a wonderful flavour. Totally worth picking up at Trader Joe’s. I’ve been enjoying one or two of these instead of cookies and cakes thatÂ constantlyÂ live in my house. I’m getting sugared out and trying to listen to my body’s cravings. It wants sweet and fruit, so these are a perfect snack or dessert right now for me.
Sweet Like Hannah Truffles
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
- 2/3 cup dates pitted
- 2/3 cup dried mango preferably organic
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup water
- Combine everything (except for the water) into a food processor and pulse until the mixture comes Roll into balls and store in the freezer.
