No forming, no pretty, nothing good to look at. Just wanted some quick country bread so made a plain miche. There were so many options in the Bread Bakers Apprentice to make this a fab looking loaf and instead I made bread for the best reason. I wanted to eat it. I could have made something fancy or an epi, but no, I just wanted to eat bread. The best reason to bake. I even have a few bannetons and I totally forgot to use them. Preoccupied with eating bread.
The texture was great for sandwiches and toast. The husband even ate the leftovers and was really impressed. Next time I make a hearty stew or chili this will be on the list.
