Mmmm Sauce by Mama Pea

When I saw Mama Pea’s recipe I didn’t really give it a second glance. Then I started seeing it everywhere. Lots of food bloggers have latched on to this recipe so I felt like I had to try it to see what was up.

While I was not a fan of it on lettuce based salads, it was okay on carrots and raw veggies but it is really good as a dipping sauce for baked tofu and roasted veggies. I can’t wait to grill up some veggie sausages and use this sauce with them. It does benefit from the time in the fridge, so don’t skip that part.

She deleted the recipe so I’ve reposted it below.

Original Mmmm Sauce

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup raw almonds
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup cooked chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
2 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried cilantro

In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine oil, almonds, water and chickpeas. Blend until relatively smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Transfer to a small bowl, cover and refrigerate until serving.
