Can I tell you how much I love living by a Japanese market again? So good! On my quest for a salty snack (without fish or shrimp or some weird meat additive) I found these and decided to give them a go. And wow, I love ikari mame! What is it? It has 3 ingredients: broad beans (lima beans), vegetable/corn oil and salt. That’s it. Pretty much deep fried beans (though other sources say they are roasted, whatever). And you know I love me some lima/broad beans. I love how they split open and are salty and crunchy. I have to definitely moderate my intake as eating the whole bag is easy but around 500 calories.
