Breakfast Bars Recipe

This is an oldie but a goodie back from my McDougalling days. Most days I make them in muffin tins because I’m too darn lazy to cut them, but they are really simple any way you make them. They can get a bit mushy with the more fruit you add, fyi.

Breakfast Bars

2 cups oats
1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup apple sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 cup dried cranberries (Soak in warm water for 10 minutes to plump, I used TJ mixed berries)
1/4 cup (not packed)  brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 small mashed bananas
(I add some cake spice or baking spice, cinnamon would do too)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix all ingredients together.
Pour into 9 X 13 baking pan.
Pat into thin layer.
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
